After three months of rehearsals, I am happy to announce that NOIR is opening tonight, and I am very excited to be dancing in it. NOIR, part of the 2004 Whitney Biennial, is a site-specific dance installation by Canadian choreographer Noemie Lafrance, winner of two Bessie Awards.
Performed in a parking garage, NOIR invites the audience to view the dance installation through the windshields of parked cars. Inspired by 1940’s American film noir and performed by ten dancers, this adventurous and provocative choreography examines themes of suspense and love…
NOIR will be performed Wednesdays through Saturdays, 7:30 and 9:30pm, May 5-22, in the Delancey & Essex Municipal Parking Garage at 105 Essex Street in the Lower Eastside, Manhattan (F/J/M/Z to Delancey/Essex).
Tickets for NOIR are now available at 212.868.4444 or online at smarttix.
